IFS Foundations An 8-week live course in Internal Family Systems for mental-health professionals — lecture, live demonstration and practice, with Dr. Joe Flanders. Register See the eight sessions Internal Family Systems (IFS) has become one of the most influential approaches in psychotherapy — a clear, compassionate map for working with the parts of us shaped by pain, and the Self that can lead them. Over eight weeks, this course takes you from the model’s foundations to the healing steps, with practice in every session. Become a member → IFS understands the mind as naturally multiple: a system of parts. Some carry the pain of difficult experiences (exiles); others work hard to keep that pain out of reach (managers and firefighters). Beneath them is the Self, an undamaged core that can lead the system toward healing. For therapists, IFS offers a language clients recognize immediately and a step-by-step way to work with even the most entrenched protective patterns. IFS Foundations is for clinicians who want more than an introduction. Each 90-minute session pairs a short lecture with a live demonstration and guided practice, so the model moves from your head into your hands — including the work of noticing your own parts in the room. Along the way we connect IFS to memory reconsolidation, the mechanism behind deep and lasting change. If you joined Dr. Tori Olds’ IFS workshop this fall, this is the place to go deeper. The eight sessions Session 1 · January 22 · Why parts? — from trauma neurobiology to multiplicity Session 2 · January 29 · The IFS model — how trauma creates parts, and how unblending frees Self Session 3 · February 5 · The 6 Fs — getting to know a part through the body Session 4 · February 12 · Protectors — managers and firefighters Session 5 · February 19 · Protectors in conflict — fears, permission and polarizations Session 6 · February 26 · The Self-led therapist — your own parts in the room Session 7 · March 12 · Exiles — finding and witnessing Session 8 · March 19 · The healing steps — unburdening and integration How the course works Each week: 90 minutes live on Zoom — a short lecture, a live demonstration, and guided practice with your peers.
